Low Turnout for Early Voting

Early voting for the spring elections generated under ten percent of eligible voters in College Station, and comparatively no one in Bryan.

Out of 37,394 registered voters in College Station, 3,292 participated in early voting over the last week and a half. College Station has five contested races and the council recall.

There were only 223 early voters at Bryan City Hall, hosting one contested school board election and in Wixon Valley the question of raising the local sales tax.  There are 40,830 registered voters in Bryan ISD, which includes Wixon Valley.

Saturday voting hours are from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. After the polls close Saturday night, we’ll have the results on the air and online on WTAW.

Thanks to City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta in Bryan and City Secretary Sherry Mashburn and in College Station and their staffs  for their assistance.
