Bryan police announce the arrest of the accused ringleader of a 15 man crew tied to multiple thefts of roofing shingles. 25 year old Nateagus Taylor from Houston was arrested last Friday (January 23) by Harris County sheriff’s deputies for engaging in organized criminal activity in a theft with a value of between $150,000 and $300,000 dollars. This arrest comes three weeks after the crew was seen a Bryan supply store with four cargo trucks attempting to steal $10,091 dollars of shingles. All but two of the suspects got away. The two who were caught, from Houston and Humble, remain in the Brazos County jail as of January 26th after they were arrested on multiple charges. Online records do not show Taylor is in either the Brazos County or Harris County jails. Original story January 6, 2026: Bryan police arrest reports say 15 people are suspected of attempting to load roofing materials into four rental trucks Monday morning (January 5) during the two o’clock hour. All but two of the suspects who ran away from ABC Supply on Highway 21 near the freeway remain at large. Officers found in two of the rental trucks, a combined 209 packages of shingles valued at $10,091 dollars. Two Houston area men who were caught remain in jail as of January 6 on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, felony theft, unauthorized use of what was one stolen rental truck, criminal trespassing, and evading arrest. 31 year old Cedric Austin of Houston, who was also charged with giving a false name, is held in lieu of bonds totaling $175,000 dollars. 23 year old Ernest McMillan III of Humble is held in lieu of bonds totaling $175,000 dollars. Original story January 5, 2026 Bryan police arrest two Houston area men on charges of stealing roofing materials valued at between $2,500 and $30,000 dollars. A BPD news release says officers responded Monday (January 5) just after 2 a.m. to ABC Supply on East Highway 21. Officers found four rental trucks in the supply yard. Two of the trucks were loaded with shingles. One of the rental trucks was reported stolen from Harris County. 23 year old Ernest McMillan III of Humble and 31 year old Cedric Austin of Houston were caught following a brief foot chase. As of Monday afternoon, both were jailed without bond on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, felony theft, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bonds were set for both on charges of criminal trespassing and evading arrest. Austin was also charged with failing to identify by giving false or fictitious information. Bryan police news release: On January 5th, 2026 at 2:06 a.m., officers with the Bryan Police Department responded to an alarm call located at 3000 East State Highway 21, ABC Supply. Upon officers’ arrival, they observed multiple suspects inside the fenced in perimeter of the business. Two suspects fled on foot and were quickly apprehended. During the course of the investigation, officers located forced entry to gain access into the yard. Four U-Haul Cargo Trucks were located within the supply yard of the business, two of which had been loaded with roofing shingles belonging to the business. One U-Haul truck was reported stolen out of Harris County. Information gathered on scene determined all four U-Haul trucks traveled from Harris County. Ernest McMillian III, 23 YOA from Humble, TX., and Cedric Austin, 31 YOA from Houston, TX., were arrested on the following charges: Theft $2,500-$30,000 Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity Criminal Trespass Evading Arrest Cedric Austin was also charged with Fail to Identify Giving False or Fictitious Information.
