Long Named a Louisville Slugger All-American

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M junior pitcher Grayson Long was selected to the Louisville Slugger All-America Third Team released by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Thursday.

Long, an All-SEC Second Team selection this year, is 9-0 on the season with a 2.62 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 86.0 innings of work. The junior northpaw is holding opponents to a .214 batting average on the season. In 10 conference starts, Long went 6-0 with a 2.67 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 57.1 innings of work. He earned SEC Pitcher of the Week recognition twice during his junior campaign.

For his career, Long is 19-4 with a 3.01 ERA and 193 strikeouts in 221.1 innings of work. His .826 winning percentage ranks ninth on A&M’s career list. The 19 victories is tied for 15th on the Aggies’ all-time chart.

Texas A&M begins NCAA Division I Baseball Championship regional action on Friday when they host Texas Southern in a 6 pm game on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
