Motorists passing by the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park Monday morning (April 20) may have seen tour buses.
Passengers on those buses includes 20 veterans who are headed to the Houston suburb of Seabrook for the Fleet Week celebration of Navy sailors, Marines, and members of the Coast Guard.
Comcast sponsored the veterans trip that ended with a tour of the Navy amphibious class USS Kearsarge.
Before leaving Veterans Park, the 20 veterans who are members of American Legion Earl Graham post 159 from Bryan were each honored with two certificates.
One was a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Michael McCaul. And there was a joint Certificate of Recognition from State Senator Charles Schwertner, State Representative Trey Wharton and State Representative Paul Dyson.
Each veteran was also gifted with a flag that was flown over the Texas State Capitol and a Comcast goodie bag that included a challenge coin.
