Local Men Remain In Jail Following Arrests Last Week

If you were in the College Station Walmart store last Wednesday morning around 9:30, you may have witnessed an arrest in the produce section. Two College Station plain clothes detectives arrested 27 year old Mitchel Anderson of College Station on charges of unauthorized use of a motorcycle that was reported stolen, theft of a handgun that was found loaded in his backpack, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Anderson, who is awaiting trial on four misdemeanor drug charges following an arrest by Bryan police in June, remains in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $50,000 dollars. Anderson is also being held on an arrest warrant from Washington County on a charge of burglary of a building, and a warrant from last year accusing him of criminal conspiracy in an arson.

A Bryan man tells Bryan police he took a bed frame and repeatedly struck a neighbor’s Jeep because he heard someone inside the vehicle and he wanted them to leave. According to the arrest report, 35 year old Aaron Stanton told the officer he “busted, kicked it and bounced” the bed frame off the SUV…shattering the front windshield and damaging the hood, rear hatch, rear bumper, front left quarter panel, and driver’s door. Stanton remains in jail in lieu of a $5,000 thousand dollar bond on a charge of criminal mischief resulting in at least $2,500 dollars in damage.
