College Station Police continue to investigate a very large disturbance in the parking lot of an apartment complex that resulted in officers using pepper spray on two of four people who were arrested.

Police Assistant Patricia Logan says an estimated 50 people were fighting outside the Campus Village complex last Saturday night and the total crowd was estimated at 200.

Logan says the pepper spray was used after two officers believed their safety was threatened by the large crowd.

Logan says officers don’t know what started the fight. The only injuries were to those who were hit by the pepper spray.

A total of 15 police vehicles from CSPD and University Police responded along with a crew from the fire department.

Those who were arrested included 23 year old Carnell Banks, Jr. of College Station and 21 year old Deantoinette Roberts of Bryan for interference with duties. They are out of the Brazos County Jail after posting bond. Also arrested were Steffon Johnson and Cedrick Goodman Jr. for disorderly conduct. Additional information on Johnson and Goodman was not available on the Brazos County or City of College Station websites.

Patricia Logan visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
