A Brazos County Detention Officer was arrested by the College Station Police Department early Tuesday. 26-year-old Dwayne Andre Richards was off duty at the time of the incident. An investigation by College Station Police resulted in the arrest of Richards on charges of Family Violence Assault/Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation and Interfering with an Emergency Call. Following notification of the arrest, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office initiated an internal investigation and Richards has been suspended pending the outcome of that investigation. Richards was employed as a Detention Officer since August of 2024. As of Tuesday evening, he remained jailed on $20,000 bond. The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office says they strive “to be open and engaged with the community we serve. Our community expects a high level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity from everyone who serves with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, and we share those same expectations.”
Entergy has notified the City of Madisonville that there will be scheduled electric outages for maintenance on Wednesday, August 26th. 9:00pm-11:00pm — affects 51 customers on the South side of E. Main Street with sections of E. Morris, Ship, and Anchor being affected. The only non-residential account affected is the Iglesia Cristiana church on 810 Anchor Street. 12:00am-3:00am — affects 66 customers on the North side of E. Main Street with sections of Magnolia, Farview, Harrell, Ship, and Minden streets being affected. The only non-residential impact is the Auto Zone @ 605 E. Main Street and the Brogdon building on 200 N. Harrell Street.
