Kyle Field Discussion with Brazos County Judge Duane Peters

Known to those involved for a couple of weeks, the word is out about this week’s meeting of local elected leaders and Texas A&M officials about the future of Kyle Field.

Brazos County Judge Duane Peters says they have no funding sources to offer to the expansion. Peters says the county’s share of hotel occupancy tax money is dedicated to the expo complex and the county’s share of sales tax money goes towards offsetting property taxes.

Peters says no pressure was put on locally elected officials by their counterparts at A&M.

Duane Peters visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.

Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski says a proposed local contribution of $38 million dollars to a more than $400 million dollar facelift represents the increased expense to do the work in phases instead of all at once…which would require moving football games out of town.
