News release from Kristen Distributing Company:
Kristen Distributing Company hosted KDC Day, an employee development day, at Kyle Field in College Station, TX, on March 23, 2026. With two warehouses in the state of Texas, Kristen is responsible for delivering over 3.5 million cases of product a year. Employees from both the Temple and Bryan locations took a break from the usual grind to dive deep into communication styles, hearing from guest speakers, and learning how to work better as a team. “As the industry and our employees evolve, we want to make sure that Kristen Distributing evolves with it,” said President John Kristen, “The younger generations value a people and culture fit over anything else. With a good portion of our employees falling in the Millennial or Gen Z demographic, we knew this was not only important for our current employees but also for future employees.”
KDC Day is designed to strengthen communication and collaboration across Kristen Distributing. This year’s event focused specifically on understanding different communication styles and how they impact team dynamics, equipping employees with tools to better connect and perform together. Through interactive sessions and team-based activities, employees explored how individual approaches to communication can influence productivity and workplace relationships. Featured guest speaker Texas A&M Offensive Coordinator Holmon Wiggins reinforced these themes, sharing real-world insights on the role communication plays in building successful teams. Additionally, Beer Business Daily publisher and editor Harry Schuhmacher led an industry roundtable discussion that connected these skills to the evolving beverage landscape. “Employee development and communication within teams are crucial building blocks for a successful business,” said General Manager Rich Porcaro. “I look forward to seeing the continued impact of KDC Day as it continues to grow and evolve.”
