Just Enough Bryan Councilmembers on Hand

Only three members of the Bryan City Council attended a special meeting Monday afternoon.

By state law, that’s all it took to canvass the vote from this month’s runoff election.

Rafael Pena was sworn in as councilman in single member district two.

Pena thanked members of his family, including his late father, along with his supporters.

Pena also addressed philosophical differences by his opponents, noting “it doesn’t matter if you’re on the left or the right, because neither side has sidewalks.”

Attending the meeting were Ann Horton, Chuck Konderla, and Pena’s predecessor, Paul Madison.
