Tuesday’s Brazos County Commission meeting included formalizing the appointment of Jeff Reeves as Precinct One Constable.
County Judge Duane Peters says that followed a state required six-month waiting period to allow Reeves to establish residency in the precinct.
Reeves, who was Chief Deputy when Brian Bachmann was shot and killed last August, was named administrator of the office.
Reeves, who was sworn in Tuesday by Judge Peters, says before he accepted he asked and received Donna Bachmann’s blessing.
Reeves, who plans on running for a full term, invites residents in Precinct One to visit with him about any concerns in the district.
