Interim Dean at A&M Bush School in NYC Remembering 9/11

Andrew Card, Interim Dean of A&M's Bush School of Government

The interim Dean of the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University was a major figure in the 9-11 disaster.

Andrew Card is in New York City participating in this weekend’s 10 year rememberances. Before leaving, Card was interviewed by A&M’s news and information office about his role as chief of staff for President George W. Bush.

Card was the one who told Bush about the jet that hit the second tower of the World Trade Center as the President was talking to a class of second graders.

Card, who left the classroom a short time later, says he’s glad the President remained inside.

Card says one reason was the President did not introduce fear to the young students. Another reason was it gave him time to prepare for what laid ahead.
