Initial Kidnapping Report Brings Out CS Police SWAT and Bomb Squads

News release from College Station police:

On 12/26/15 at about 1801 hours officers with College Station Police responded to the 1300 block of Mullins Loop S for a reported kidnapping. A citizen reported that two white males were seen dragging a white female into a residence. The female was reported to be struggling and resisting the males’ efforts. After officers arrived on scene they attempted to make contact at the suspected residence. The officers did not see any sign of a struggle in the yard and did not hear any sounds of a struggle or disturbance coming from the residence. No one at the residence answered the door. The officers also attempted to call inside of the residence but were unable to find a working phone number for the resident.

Based on the circumstances of the call that were known at that time, the College Station SWAT team, Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT), and the Bomb Squad were requested to assist in the investigation. Residents in the area were contacted and asked to remain inside of their homes and several local streets in the area were blocked to divert traffic from the area. Eventually a white female exited the residence. She was identified as the female that was seen at the beginning of the incident. She was interviewed by College Station detectives.

She stated she had not been kidnapped. She stated her boyfriend had assaulted her in the front yard of the suspected residence and had left the residence before officers arrived on scene. She had injuries consistent with a Class A Assault and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.

Based on this new information there was no reason for officers to force entry into the residence. No one was believed to be in any further danger of violence. Residents in the area were contacted and advised that there was no longer any danger. Local streets were reopened and officers cleared the scene. No arrest has been made at this time.

This case has been turned over to the criminal investigation division. Anyone with information about this offense, please contact the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
