College Station ISD Announces 84% Pass Rate For Students Taking AP Exams in 2026
College Station ISD announced on Monday that the district had an 84% pass rate for students who took Advanced Placement exams in 2026. The pass rate outperforms both state and national averages across tested subjects. Highest passing averages: English Literature 96% Calculus BC 96% English Language 95% Chemistry 94% Physics C: Mechanics 91% Human Geography 90% United States History 90% Physics I 86% Students earned more than 7,000 college credit hours this year, helping save time and money as they prepare for college. Elizabeth Cunha Also Announces Candidacy for College Station Mayor
Less than 90 minutes after current College Station City Councilman Bob Yancy announced his candidacy for Mayor, he’s already got an opponent. Yancy filed his paperwork at 10:38am. At 11:48am, former Councilwoman Elizabeth Cunha filed her paperwork to have her name listed in the Mayor column on the November ballot. Cunha was first elected the the College Station City Council in 2020 to fill a one-year unexpired term in Place 4. She was re-elected in 2021 and completed that term in 2024.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced the latest in detours and closures associated with the “Big 6” Construction project: Monday, July 27 Southbound mainlane between Barron Road and William D. Fitch Parkway – Full Closure – 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. All traffic must exit through the southbound William D. Fitch Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of William D. Fitch Parkway. Please note that exit ramp closures begin at 7:30 p.m. Northbound and southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Rock Prairie Drive – Single-lane Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The southbound mainlane left lane will be closed between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue for dirt work in the center median. Southbound Texas Avenue – Turn Lane Closure The southbound Texas Avenue left turn lane just north of the southbound frontage road traffic signal (at business entrance for Mojo Taco/Burger King/SmartStop Self Storage) will be closed starting 8 a.m. on Monday, July 27, through 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, to install drainage work across the business entrance driveway. Tuesday, July 28 Northbound and southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Rock Prairie Drive – Single-lane Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The southbound mainlane left lane will be closed between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue for dirt work in the center median. Southbound frontage road between Barron Road and William D. Fitch Parkway – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The southbound frontage road left lane will be closed to set traffic barrier. Additionally, the southbound William D. Fitch Parkway exit ramp and entrance ramp just north of William D. Fitch Parkway will be closed. Traffic can access William D. Fitch Parkway by exiting through the southbound Barron Road exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes south of William D. Fitch Parkway. Wednesday, July 29 Northbound and southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Rock Prairie Drive – Single-lane Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The southbound mainlane left lane will be closed between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue for dirt work in the center median. Thursday, July 30 Northbound and southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Rock Prairie Drive – Single-lane Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The southbound mainlane left lane will be closed between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue for dirt work in the center median. Friday, July 31 Northbound and southbound mainlanes between Harvey Road and Rock Prairie Drive – Single-lane Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The southbound mainlane left lane will be closed between Harvey Road and Texas Avenue for dirt work in the center median. TxDOT encourages drivers to watch for changing traffic patterns, be sure to follow signs, and to always use caution.
