Houston Murder Suspect Charged in Rapes

HOUSTON (AP) _ Houston police have charged a man arrested in two sexual assaults with killing a woman who was one of six victims dumped near churches in a tight-knit but struggling Houston neighborhood.

Police say 33-year-old LaMarques McWilliams was charged with the April 2006 killing of 50-year-old Pamela Ann Goss. Police also named him as a suspect in the death of Jasmine Clark.

The nude bodies of Goss, Clark and four other women were found in the Acres Homes neighborhood between January 2006 and September 2007.

Police said they are still investigating whether McWilliams was connected to the four other deaths. McWilliams was charged last month with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in the rapes of two women. In addition to those two charges, McWilliams has been charged with three other sexual assaults in Acres Homes, police said.

McWilliams is to be arraigned later this month on the sexual assault charges.
