One Bryan man is dead and a second is in jail, accused of being involved in a failed carjacking in Houston where the victim shot and killed a second suspect.
Houston police say two armed men held up the victim at a DVD rental kiosk.
When the suspects got in the victim’s car and turned around, the victim pulled out a handgun and started firing.
26 year old Melvin Auston, Jr. died in the car.
32 year old Elijah Mims ran away and was picked up by a third suspect who remains at large.
Mims was dropped off in the emergency room of College Station Medical Center, where doctors contacted local police.
After Mims was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound, he was taken to the Brazos County Jail on an arrest warrant from Harris County.
The carjacking victim, who has a concealed handgun license, was not hurt.
Houston Police say they have seven witnesses who saw the carjacking and the victim firing at the suspects.
