Grimes County Lifts Another Evacuation Order, Renaissance Festival Grounds Remains Closed

Grimes County Emergency Management Coordinator Michael Pishner reported the mandatory evacuation order was lifted Saturday for all of the West Magnolia Forest Subdivision.

On Friday, the evacuation order was lifted for residents of the Foxfire subdivision, including those living on County Road 351. Officials continue  to say residents should be allowed inside affected areas, they should be on the lookout for continued firefighting operations, and any suspicious activity should be reported to local law enforcement.

The modified jet originally brought to Texas to help with wildfires around Bastrop was in the air Friday making multiple drops over Grimes, Waller, and Montgomery counties.

The Texas Renaissance Festival doesn’t open to the public until next month. But festival management has told employees not to report to work this weekend due to the wildfires. TRF grounds are closed to the public until all evacuation orders have been lifted.
