Governor’s First Semiconductor Grant Recipient In Brazos County Goes To Texas A&M

The governor made an official announcement Thursday of the first grant coming to Brazos County from his semiconductor innovation fund.

$13 million dollars will go towards a $28 million dollar expansion of the Texas A&M cyclotron building on the main campus.

In February, cyclotron director Sherry Yennello told the board of regents about the need to grow the world’s leading provider of testing the radiation resilience of space electronics.

Since February of 2025, the governor has announced 23 recipients from his semiconductor innovation fund, totaling $413 million dollars.
