A special meeting of the Bryan city council last Friday (June 26) was moved from a conference room to council chambers due to the appearance of 15 BTU solar customers. Those customers are among 814 affected by a council decision made last month, agreeing with a BTU board recommendation to pay less to solar customers who sold their excess electricity to BTU. Four council members attending last Friday’s meeting agreed to modify last month’s decision. The BTU board’s recommendation that was approved by the council last month was based on solar customers not sharing BTU’s cost of providing electricity to retail customers. Four young men playing in last weekend’s 7 on 7 football tournament in College Station and an adult say there were asked to be prostitutes. An arrest report from College Station police says this happened Friday night (June 25) in the elevator at a local hotel. The arrest report also says an intoxicated man offered each of the players $500 dollars each. An adult with the players showed the responding officer the video she took of the proposition. After officers showed the video, the man said the boys “seduced” him and argued he had done anything wrong because the boys did not accept his offer. 52 year old Mario Badillo Jr. from Roswell, New Mexico was charged with five counts of solicitation. As of June 29, Badillo remains jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $90,000 dollars.
