George H.W. Bush Foundation Reopens The Museum Rotunda

While the partial shutdown of the federal government continues, the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation has reopened the museum rotunda.

That includes the George H.W. Bush memorial exhibit, condolence books, and the museum’s gift store.

Foundation CEO David Jones issued a news release stating “People are coming from all over the country, and the world, to pay their respects to President Bush and we thought this would be a great compromise on the shutdown, to allow the public to view the gravesite, memorial exhibit and sign the condolence books while they are in College Station.”

The rotunda will be open through this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Jones says “It is anticipated we will resume these same hours on January 2.”

He also said the memorial exhibit and condolence books will remain in the rotunda through the end of January.

When the partial shutdown started, the museum announced the Bush family gravesite would be open from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., except for New Year’s Day.
