A garbage truck tipped its load before getting to the Rock Prairie Landfill Monday afternoon.
Officer Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department says traffic was blocked for three hours following the noon hour mishap.
Investigators told Seaton a wheel of the garbage truck dropped off the pavement, the driver overcorrected twice, and the truck landed on the driver’s side.
The driver, whose name was not available but is employed by Texas Commercial Waste, was taken to a local emergency room to be checked for non-life threatening injuries.
Seaton says the road was closed to lift the truck off its side and to pick up trash.
