FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) _ Police say a constable fatally shot a man who pulled a gun as officers arrived at a Fort Worth apartment complex to serve him with arrest warrant for failing to pay child support.
Capt. Charles Ramirez, a Fort Worth police spokesman, says a Tarrant County constable had accompanied an officer from the Texas attorney general’s office to serve the warrant Thursday.
Ramirez tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (http://bit.ly/15CSzSP ) the man pulled a handgun from his waistband as he met officers on the front porch.
Ramirez says as the man brought up the gun, the constable fired at least two shots.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Ramirez says no one else was at the apartment, and neither officer was hurt.
