Ft. Worth Home Invasion

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) _ Fort Worth police say an officer and a homeowner suffered non-life threatening injuries when both were struck by pellets from a shotgun after a home invasion attempt.

Sgt. Chad Mahaffey says the gunman was sought Thursday. Mahaffey says the officer and the homeowner were attacked Wednesday night after the resident called police to say the suspect had kicked in his front door.

Police say the homeowner knows the suspect, who fled after allegedly opening fire on the pair.Police say the officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of arm and head wounds.

Mahaffey says the resident who also was wounded did not go to a hospital.
