Frosh Hill Nets Two For the WIn

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies got a pair of goals from freshman Jordan Hill to score a 2-0 win over the Lamar Cardinals at Ellis Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Aggies were overwhelming on the afternoon, outshooting the Cardinals 26-3. Texas A&M also owned advantages in shots-on-goal (10-2) and corner kicks (3-2).

Texas A&M was unable to break the scoring seal in the first 30 minutes of action despite outshooting Lamar, 10-1.

Midway through the second of three 30-minute periods, Haley Poundslaunched a shot from outside the box. Her missile hit the crossbar and Hill put the carom into the net with a header to give A&M the 1-0 advantage.

With just over eight minutes of action remaining, Hill added her second goal, dribbling through a host of defenders into the penalty box before unleashing a shot.

The Maroon and White improved to 1-0-1 on the spring.

The Aggies return to action on March 5 when the Aggies host the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a 7 pm match at Ellis Field.
