A Franklin man is off to prison for life after being convicted of murdering a Bryan woman in January of last year.
46 year old Michael Peck, who was found guilty by a jury in July, was sentenced Friday by Brazos County District Judge Travis Bryan.
Peck sought the minimum 25 years while prosecutors asked for life.
The victim, 27 year old Julie Perez, was found strangled to death in near a residence on Sandy Point Road west of Bryan. Peck was on parole at the time of Perez’s death.
Evidence at the sentencing hearing included Peck’s prior record of assaulting three women and threatening to kill two of them. The defense called a former employer who said Peck was a good worker.
