Fourth Grader Eludes Bryan School Employees & Police Over Three Hours

A nine year old student at Bryan’s Crockett Elementary School is in more trouble after taking off Thursday morning, resulting in a three and a hour search.

Bryan ISD’s Sandy Farris says the fourth grader, who knew he was facing disciplinary action on another matter, was hiding under a bridge on Cavitt Street south of the campus.

Farris says school employees followed procedure, which included calls to parents of Crockett parents. Bryan Police also made a neighborhood callout to assist in the search.

Farris says the student faces additional disciplinary action for leaving campus in addition to what led him to take off Thursday morning just before 8. Police say he was found at 11:24 a.m.

Sandy Farris visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
