Four Juveniles Charged in Dallas Man’s Death

DALLAS (AP) _ Police have four juveniles in custody suspected of shoving a 19-year-old man against an accelerating Dallas Area Rapid Transit train at a platform near Fair Park.

A Dallas police statement Wednesday said two juveniles, ages 12 and 14, were taken into custody Wednesday. That brings to four the number of juveniles charged with capital murder.

Officials say Octavius Lanier was standing on the platform of the Martin Luther King Station the evening of Nov. 22 when boys shoved him from behind against the moving train. Lanier’s leg became lodged between the train and station platform and he was
dragged for a short distance.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of a severed femoral artery.
