A safe and its contents belonging to a Wixon Valley area couple were found after it was dragged out of the house last week. According to the arrest report, Brazos County sheriff’s deputies followed a muddy path of footprints dragging a safe on a bath towel from the home to a fence line about 30 yards from a driveway. A large amount of cash and documents were still in the safe. While deputies were at the safe, they saw a vehicle pull into the driveway then backed out and sped away. Deputies stopped the vehicle a short time later and found the driver wearing clothes that were muddy and wet and shoes that had the same pattern as were found in the yard. And deputies found a decal matching the manufacturer of the safe. 19 year old Francisco Cecilio of Bryan, who claimed he was with his mother all day, is out of jail on bond following his arrest on a burglary charge.
A Madisonville man arrested in Bryan is also wanted in two other counties. Bryan police responded to a shoplifting Monday afternoon at the west side Walmart. The officer who responded followed the suspect’s car until it pulled into a driveway about one mile away. According to the arrest report, the officer recognized the driver from past thefts. The suspect is also accused of pulling away from the officer and running away. The suspect was tackled by a second officer behind a home and was arrested on charges of stealing $73 dollars of merchandise with three prior convictions, evading and resisting arrest, and possessing K-2. 32 year old Jason Turner is also being held on theft charges from Limestone and Houston counties.
A defective tail lamp on a trailer leads to the arrests of two Bryan men on charges of stealing the trailer in Grimes County. The owner of the pickup, 46 year old James Christopher Hunn, went to jail for the 24th time in 28 years on charges of theft and possessing methamphetamine. At the time of his arrest, Hunn was awaiting trial on another theft charges. The driver of the truck, 32 year old James Welvaert, went to jail for the 15th time in 14 years on a theft charge. According to the arrest report, a Brazos County sheriff’s deputy determined the trailer plate was supposed to be on a homemade trailer owned by Hunn.
A College Station woman is accused of filing a false police report last month. According to the College Station police arrest report, 28 year old Wendy Jones talked to an officer at length about how she was strangled and threatened with a knife by someone she knew while they were inside her truck that was parked near a convenience store. Four days later, Jones wanted to drop charges. The day after that, Jones said she scratched her neck to leave marks and she has had a bump on the back of her head since birth. The arrest report also noted Jones made multiple false reports to military police at Fort Hood. Jones is out of jail following her arrest last week after posting bond.
