FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) _ There will be a roll call of the names of the dead, and a 21-gun salute.
Those are some of the details of a memorial service that will take place Tuesday at Fort Hood, honoring victims of last week’s shooting rampage that took 13 lives.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to attend the memorial service.
As preparations for that event continue, there is also an effort to return to the business of soldiering at the nation’s largest military installation.
The building where Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire is still a crime scene — but a processing center is scheduled to reopen Thursday in a new, temporary location.
A command sergeant says reopening the center is an important step to returning the Army post to normal.
