OMAHA, Neb. – Former Texas A&M NCAA Champion Cammile Adams punched her ticket to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with a victory in the 200-meter butterfly on Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

For Adams, who swam for the Aggies from 2011-14, it was her second straight U.S. Olympic Trials victory in the 200 fly as she qualified for U.S. Olympic Team for a second time. As is her typical race strategy, Adams trailed for the first half of the race and then used her powerful back-half strength to fly past the field for the victory in a time of 2:06.80. Adams finished .70 of a second ahead of runner-up Hali Flickinger of Georgia, who is also headed to Rio.

Also shining for Texas A&M on Thursday were sophomore Bethany Galat and 2015 senior Sarah Henry, who both advanced through two rounds of the 200 breaststroke to advance to Friday’s final. Galat goes in as the No. 4 seed with a time of 2:25.25 in the semis, while Henry is the No. 6 seed with a semifinal time of 2:26.57. 2012 Olympian Breeja Larson was 11th in the semifinals in 2:27.43 and did not advance.
