Former Police Informant Faces More Prison

DALLAS (AP) _ A former Dallas police narcotics informant has pleaded guilty to counterfeiting and immigration charges after serving time for his role in the fake drugs scandal, according to a newspaper report.

The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday that Enrique Martinez Alonso could be sentenced to 20 years during a hearing Monday.

Court documents show that in 2008, Alonso sold an undercover federal agent and an informant $9,970 in counterfeit bills for $400.

He was arrested in March after being indicted in February. Alonso is being held in the Seagoville federal prison and couldn’t be reached for comment, according to the newspaper.

He served a five-year sentence for his role in a 2001 scandal that sent innocent immigrants to jail using faked drug evidence.

A former narcotics officer, Mark Delapaz, went to prison after he was convicted in the scandal.
