According to online jail records, 48 year old Brenda Hobson of Willis was booked on Thursday. That’s after she was allowed to take time to get her affairs in order, over the objections of the Brazos County district attorney’s office.
Willis was ordered to serve 180 days of what’s called shock probation. After that, the trial judge will decide whether Hobson serves the remainder of a ten year prison term, which was sought by prosecutors.
Hobson pleaded guilty in June 2015 to taking cash, checks, and money orders from Brazos Valley Periodontics between 2009 and 2012.
The D-A’s office says Hobson has repaid $150,000 dollars restitution. Another $100,000 is scheduled to be paid in April. The total of a quarter million was the figure prosecutors say was reached in a settlement of a civil lawsuit against Hobson.
