Texas A&M head football coach Jimbo Fisher has named sophomore Haynes King as the Aggies’ starting quarterback.
Fisher, speaking with ESPN 97.5’s John Granato and Lance Zierlein Wednesday morning, says King will be taking the snaps when the Maroon & White open the season against Kent State on September 4th.
King, who served as Kellen Mond’s primary backup in 2020, edged out fellow sophomore Zach Calzada for the starting job in fall camp.
