College Station city council members approve rezoning land at Harvey Mitchell and Dartmouth for more housing.

That’s after concerns were addressed that the project would aggravate flooding issues in the neighboring Emerald Forest neighborhood.

An Emerald Forest homeowner was told by city manager Bryan Woods that flooding concerns will be addressed at the staff level when the applicant submits a site plan for the new housing.

And a design engineer on the project, Camryn Carey, said any runoff will be directed to the city’s storm sewer system or a detention pond will be built.
