The deadline has passed to file for this November’s school board elections in Bryan and College Station.
There is only one race that is not contested. Bryan ISD single member district (SMD) one incumbent Felicia Benford, who was first elected in 2010, is unopposed in seeking a sixth three year term.
Two other BISD incumbents have opponents. Running against Leo Gonzalez in SMD two is Tim Pavlas. Running against David Stasny in SMD five is Audrey Brigando.
In College Station ISD, all three at-large seats have two candidates. Running for the vacancy being left by the retirement of Joshua Benn are Grant Madsen and Chris Field. Incumbent Jeff Horak is opposed by retired CSISD superintendent Mike Martindale. And incumbent Kimberly McAdams is opposed by Oliver Hadnot.
Voter registration continues through October 6th.
There are no city council elections this year.
