GONZALES, Texas (AP) _ Police say three people were in custody Wednesday after gunfire today near Gonzales City Hall left five people hurt, including two shot.
Police said two people were taken to a San Antonio hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. Three others were treated and released at Gonzales Memorial Hospital. Police did not say how the three were injured.
One of those in custody is a 32-year-old man detained for resisting arrest after the parking lot disturbance.
A police statement says an 18-year-old male and 15-year-old male were also arrested and detained for burglary of a habitation after a foot chase following the disturbance.
The statement didn’t say the condition of the victims, but said vehicles were used in an altercation.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tela Mange said the people in the disturbance knew each other and the incident was not believed to be gang related.
Gonzales City Manager David Huseman said no city employees were involved in the disturbance.
Gonzales is a town of about 7,500, located 65 miles northeast of San Antonio.
