Five Aggie Women’s Tennis Players Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Laurels

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

Five members of the Texas A&M women’s tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction, while the team claimed ITA All-Academic Team recognition, the organization announced.

Teams with a 3.2 GPA for the year earned ITA All-Academic status while student-athletes who posted a 3.50 GPA for the year were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The 2026 NCAA champion Aggies boasted a 3.407 cumulative GPA throughout the 2025-26 academic year. Lexington Reed led the way with a 3.91 GPA for the school year. She was joined on the Scholar-Athlete list by Avery Esquivel (3.64), Mia Kupres (3.6), Violeta Martinez (3.6) and Tilde Stromquist (3.63).

Martinez and Reed picked up Academic All-District recognition from the College Sports Communicators in June.

Texas A&M is experiencing the greatest run in program history. The Aggies earned their second NCAA championship in the last three seasons along with claiming their fifth consecutive SEC regular season crown.
