COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With a highly-anticipated season of Aggie men’s basketball on the horizon, Texas A&M Athletics revealed Wednesday that veteran Aggie gameday staffer Mike Fitch will serve as public address announcer for men’s basketball home games at Reed Arena.
“I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of the Texas A&M Athletics game day staff,” Fitch said. “Aggie basketball is poised to have a great season and I’m excited to play a role in making Reed Arena one of the most exciting venues for college basketball in the country.”
A familiar voice to the 12th Man, Fitch brings considerable experience behind the microphone at a multitude of Texas A&M athletic events.
In addition to assuming full-time PA responsibilities inside Reed Arena for the 2017-18 season, Fitch has been heard at soccer matches, equestrian meets, baseball and softball games. After serving as a back-up announcer for men’s basketball, he began his run as the primary public address voice for men’s basketball during a stretch of eight games to close last season.
In addition to his duties behind the microphone, Fitch has assisted on the Aggie men’s basketball table staff during game days as video replay coordinator.
Starting out with soccer in 2001, Fitch has announced for every Aggie sport, including the 2007 Football Maroon & White game, and has been announcing names at Texas A&M graduation since 2008.
