First Day to File For City Council & School Board in B/CS

The window has opened for those interested in running for Bryan and College Station city councils and school boards in this November’s election.

Most of Monday’s activity, the first day to file, came from the city of Bryan. Councilman Art Hughes can not run for a third term due to term limits. Filing on the first day for his single member district five seat were Ben Hardeman and Jarrod Hamlin. Current Bryan at-large councilman Chuck Konderla can seek a second term. But he tells WTAW News he has not decided. Two others have filed for the at-large seat, Buppy Simank and Kevin Davenport.

On the College Station city council, incumbents John Nichols and James Benham have filed for reelection.

There were no filings on Monday for the Bryan or College Station school boards.

The filing period ends August 24th.
