In coordination with Texas A&M University’s Family Weekend, Visit College Station is hosting a farmers and artisans market at Northgate this Sunday.

Kendra Davis, Events Coordinator, says the inaugural Homegrown at Northgate features 39 vendors.

“We have locally crafted items, but are also bringing in farmers because we know there is a hub of these people in the Brazos Valley that create items and sell them. For some it’s a hobby and for others it’s their livelihood,” said Davis.

Davis says the market is an effort to make Northgate more than the go-to place for College Station’s nightlife scene.

“We’re trying to recreate the Northgate promenade and space to be a place where people can utilize it during the daytime, and for not only those 21 and up, but for families as well,” said Davis.

The market will be located on the Patricia Street Promenade from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
