Familiar Face Returning to A&M

A familiar name has been announced by Texas A&M University as the new Interim Vice President for Administration.

Tom Taylor returns to the flagship campus, taking over for Russell Cross, who asked to return to teaching.

President R. Bowen Loftin says Dr. Cross will continue to chair the Deferred Maintenance Task force and manage special projects for the President’s Office.

Taylor, Aggie Class of 1966, worked for A&M for 36 years before retiring in 2005. Since then he been handling special projects for the Division of Finance and serving for six months as assistant dean for finance and administration at A&M’s branch campus in Qatar.

Taylor’s new assignment oversees a variety of administrative functions, including Facilities, Dining Services, Transportation Services, Environmental Health and Safety, University Police, and Risk and Compliance.

Taylor is the second interim Senior Vice President since the abrupt resignation of Alexander Kemos.
