The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) district office in Bryan has announced an emergency contract has been awarded to repair the railroad overpass south of Navasota damaged by a train derailment three weeks ago.
Work began Monday on the overpass bridge substructure and weather permitting should be completed by mid-August.
TxDOT reports northbound traffic on Highway 6 will be limited to one lane during repairs.
The contract, for $345,530.00, was awarded to L.C. Jordan and Son.
