Voter turnout in Brazos County was heavier than expected.
Brazos County Clerk Karen McQueen says 31,898 participated out of 92,000 registered, for a turnout of almost 35 percent.
All but one local incumbent seeking re-election won.
Michael Schaefer defeated Kimberly McAdams for a seat on the College Station school board.
Bryan school board member David Stasny won his ninth three year term.
Bryan ISD voters approved a $132 million dollar bond issue with almost 65 percent of the vote. School board president Doug Wunneburger and Superintendent Tommy Wallis were among those thanking voters.
The margin was even wider in approving three changes to the Bryan city charter. Among the supporters was Mike Southerland, who is rejoining the Bryan council representing Single Member District 4 after serving two terms as the at-large member.
Incumbent College Station city council members Blanche Brick and Julie Schultz had opponents but won re-election.
District 14 State Representative John Raney of Bryan won re-election with two thirds of the vote over two opponents.
District 5 State Senator Charles Schwertner of Georgetown, whose district includes Brazos County, also won over two opponents with more than 60 percent of the vote.
District 12 State Representative Kyle Kacal of rural Brazos County won re-election with no opposition.
District 17 Congressman Bill Flores of Bryan won re-election with two thirds of the vote over two opponents.
There two new Justices of the Peace in Brazos County. Rick Hill won in Precinct 3 and Louis Garcia, Jr. in Precinct 4 with less than half the votes and by a margin of 69.
