DWI Arrests Follow Weekend Crashes

A Bryan police officer on Highway 21 Saturday at sunset spotted a wrong way driver on Rudder Freeway. For more than a mile, the officer got the attention of southbound traffic but not was not able to stop the northbound SUV. Then the wrong way SUV collided with an southbound SUV with enough force that the southbound SUV rolled onto its roof. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The wrong way driver was arrested for DWI and evading arrest. 68 year old Erasmo Rojo-Marquez of Bryan is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $7,000 dollars. And the arrest report also stated there was an unsuccessful search for a dog who was in the victim’s SUV.

A Friday night crash in the parking lot of two Bryan businesses on Finfeather Road led to the driver’s arrest on a DWI charge. According to the arrest report, a SUV that entered the parking lot of Time Mart c-store jumped a curb, went airborne, snapped a power pole that exposed live lines, then came to a stop after hitting a sign at A-T-B Storage. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries before she was taken to jail. 62 year old Robin Schenewerk remained in the Brazos County jail Monday evening in lieu of a $2,000 dollar bond.
