It’s your chance to empty the medicine cabinet as part of the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department’s and DEA’s bi-annual Drug Take-Back event this Saturday from two to ten.
Whether it’s out-dated medications or unwanted vitamins, Deputy Ed Frank says it’s time to say “goodbye.”
He says the drop-off is much better than the alternative of flushing or throwing away drugs, which can contaminate ground water and landfills.
Saturday’s collection will be in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s office, but a new 24-hour drop-off box is available anytime inside the building.
The drop-off is anonymous and safe; Frank says the box is locked and under surveillance, and the Drug Enforcement Agency picks up the drugs and puts them into an incinerator.
