A doctor at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bryan wound up in his employer’s emergency room after he was injured by an accused drunk driver.
This was in the parking lot of the Shell convenience store at Villa Maria and Carter Creek Thursday evening just after 6 p.m.
Eye Doctor Derek Kuhl was treated for head and leg injuries after he was pinned between the rear of his car and a pickup that jumped the curb and struck him from behind.
Witnesses included off duty College Station Fire Captain Joe Don Warren, who checked Kuhl’s condition until on-duty paramedics arrived.
The driver of the pickup, 49 year old Lori Carder of Bryan, was arrested for intoxication assault. Court records indicate it’s the fourth time Carder has been arrested on an alcohol related charge in the last four months. She is out of jail after posting a $10,000 dollar bond.
