After more than 20 years, one chapter is closing for the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau (BCS CVB), and a new one is about to begin.
Packing and loading has started for the BCS CVB at its old office location at 715 University Drive in the Chimney Hill Center, and operations will soon begin at the new location.
“Just like any moving experience, this week has really snuck up on us,” said BCS CVB President & CEO Shannon Overby. “It seemed like just a few days ago that we were looking at potential sites for our new offices, and now here we are rolling up our sleeves and slapping tape on boxes.”
The BCS CVB closed visitor services at its old location starting at noon on Wednesday May 14, and the BCS CVB will remain closed the remainder of the week to complete the move. Regular operations will resume on Monday May 19 at its new location, which is at 1101 University Drive East Suite 108. Close landmarks include the Holiday Inn Express and University Title Company which are on the same side as the BCS CVB offices, and across the street from McAlister’s Deli.
“We’re excited about our new location, and providing the same level of service to our visitors and partners that we have for so many years,” Overby said. “We apologize that we have to close down for these few days, but we hope that with the entire staff moving boxes during these two days that our down-time will be minimal and we’ll be able to hit it hard again starting Monday without having to worry about what box we stuck our phones in.”
During the move and transition, the BCS CVB phones or email may be temporarily down while businesses services, computer servers, and other systems are moved and established at the new location.
The BCS CVB expects to be fully out of the old location by Thursday afternoon, and unpacking boxes at the new location by Friday. Website access for residents or tourists, as well as Facebook and Twitter will remain active even during times that computer servers may be down.
