Friday morning update:
No new information was released Friday morning by College Station police from Thursday’s death of a bicyclist who was struck by a city garbage truck.
Lt. Steve Brock, on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, says the accident reconstruction and crime scene teams are involved in the investigation.
An A&M student from San Marcos, 21 year old Alannah Ritch, was killed. The driver was not injured.

The bicyclist who died was identified as a Texas A&M student, 21 year old Alannah Rose Ritch of San Marcos.

College Station police and fire are among those at the scene of a bicyclist who was killed after being hit by a garbage truck Thursday morning.
Lt. Steve Brock says a college-aged woman was struck by a city garbage truck at Ayrshire and Angus streets.
The name of the 20 year old who died has not been released because her family has not been notified.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Deputy city manager Chuck Gilman also issued a statement, which in part says the city offers “our sincerest condolences and prayers to the family of the young woman who passed away.”
The location is about two blocks south of the Association of Former Students building.
