CSISD School Board Beginning Process of New Elementary Attendance Zones

While the location of College Station’s ninth elementary school, approved by voters last month, has not been decided…the ball is rolling on the process to determine future elementary attendance zones.

CSISD administrators presented a proposed timetable which was approved at this week’s school board meeting.

Deputy Superintendent Clark Ealy asked the board to recommend members to a rezoning committee by the end of February.

Ealy plans to get input from community meetings next March. That would be followed by a rezoning committee developing recommendations, then holding public hearings after school starts next year.

Ealy says the goal is to adopt new boundaries in September or October, since the ninth elementary will open in 2015.
