There is a new principal in the College Station school district.

Josh Symank has been promoted to lead Oakwood Intermediate. For the last two years, he was assistant principal at Pebble Creek Elementeary and three years ago was an assistant principal at College Station Middle School.

Symank succeeds Jeff Mann, who was named the new principal at A&M Consolidated Middle School last month.

Wednesday’s announcement means all principal positions in CSISD have been filled for the 2015-16 school year.

Pebble Creek Assistant Principal Josh Symank has been promoted to the principal position at Oakwood Intermediate, announced College Station ISD Superintendent Dr. Clark Ealy today.

Symank will replace Jeff Mann, who was named the new principal at A&M Consolidated Middle School last month.

“Josh has emerged as a fantastic leader during his time as an assistant principal in CSISD,” Ealy said. “He strengthens CSISD’s knowledgeable and energetic team of principals and will be a great asset to the Oakwood community.”

Before spending the last two years as the assistant principal at Pebble Creek Elementary, Symank was an assistant principal for a year at College Station Middle School. In addition, Symank served CSISD as the Middle School Summer School principal for five summers.

“Josh’s understanding of where our intermediate students are coming from academically out of elementary school and what these students need to be prepared to accomplish in middle school will serve him well as principal,” Ealy added.

Prior to his work in administration, Symank was a social studies teacher and coach at College Station Middle School, A&M Consolidated High School and Travis Middle School in Port Lavaca, Texas.
